The building before the crew

Facility management is the property and the project. The round is walked, then written.

Facility, filed by Joseph Pereira

Joseph walks the building round before the first shift of the day. Property and project are kept on separate rounds, because a project has a close and a property does not. The round is written in short lines: plant, rooms in use, what failed yesterday, what must be ready.

Facility sits below the hiring floors on the paper. A hired crew with no building to work in is not a service Reliant has delivered yet.

Property

A property is a building Reliant holds through a year or longer. The round is a routine, not an inspection.

The round file is kept open while the building is in use.

Project

A project is a defined build or move. The round starts when the site opens and closes when hand-over is signed.

The project round names the counterpart from the client on each shift close.

What the round does not do

A round that only says the building looks fine is sent back for a second walk.

Facility does not open a hospitality note on behalf of the building.
