Short or long, written on the note
Manpower outsourcing names the length of the crew before the first name is pencilled in.
A crew note that does not say how long the crew stays is sent back the same shift it arrives. The floor splits a short project from a long one on the first line. The paper will not run both under one dateline.
The note also names the supervisor on the site. A crew supplied against a signed note from Reliant is not a crew sold from this page.
The short project
Short is a day, a week, a defined close. The note holds how many hands, which trade, and which floor.
The hand-over at the end of the short crew is filed under the shift close.
The long project
Long is a season, a build, a service contract. The note sets the rotation and the person who holds the roster.
A long crew has a replacement line already named on the slip.
What the paper does not do
The paper does not take an order for a crew from this page.
A crew note turns into work only once the supervisor on the site has signed it.
